The 2019 touring season ended with 5 weeks in Spain, performing the Trap at Fiestas del Pilar, a city-wide arts, theatre, music and religious festival in Zaragoza, a 5 day workshop in Clown & Physical Comedy at Entrepayasaos, directing various artists at Espacio CirteAni: Nauxtraxos, 4 alien astronauts who land on Earth and go exploring the city streets, a former hairdresser looking to combine clowning with hairspray and sticky curlers, a clown working with balls and bubbles to create a show about raising children, and a multi-talented percussionist who combines clowning with juggling mallets while playing a crazy contraption of drums, cowbells, cymbals, bike horns and a smoke machine! It ended with an hour long "Greatest Hits" theatre show combining bits from older shows with Joe's new show, Circus Bardo. A brilliant end to a wonderful season of performing, directing and teaching.
Joe will soon be an author: two books on teaching and devising for Clown and Physical Comedy will be published by Nick Hern Books under their Drama Games Series, and CLOWN The Physical Comedian will be published by Bloomsbury. They'll be available online and on bookshelves in 2020. Stay tuned!
